PROFILE

Robu is a thangka painter based in Shigatse. After professional training in historic architecture in 1986, he entered the painting tradition of Tashilhunpo Monastery, first studying with Tenzin and later with Gachen Losang Phuntsok. His long practice connects individual thangka painting with temple murals, architectural painting and the making of monumental appliqué thangkas.
